Currently our Granville Island and Downtown Walking tour crosses False Creek using the False Creek ferries. A recent invention may take crossing the water to a whole new dimension. I realllllllly want one!
Currently our Granville Island and Downtown Walking tour crosses False Creek using the False Creek ferries. A recent invention may take crossing the water to a whole new dimension. I realllllllly want one!
1. During a beer taster @ the Irish Heather, a guest asked, “is there alcohol in Canadian Craft Ale?”
2. On the way to Granville Island on the False Creek Ferry, “I thought Canadians lived in Igloos… These high rise buildings definitely aren’t igloos?”
3. Walking down Granville Street, “So where’s Granville Street?”
4. Stopping for a tea tasting in Chinatown’s Ten Ren Tea, “I drink Chinese tea all the time. It helps my basketball shot go much straighter.”
5. Walking down Water Street in Gastown, Guide: “Does anyone know when the Steam Clock was built?” Guest: “1400′s?”
Walking tours in Vancouver are great in the Summer… But who would have expected people still requesting walking tours in sub zero temperatures during Vancouver’s winter!
We would like to express a great thank you to all our courageous guests who have taken one of our walking tours in the last few weeks. The temperature on todays tour was -3 degrees Celsius and we had a great turnout!
If this years winter is too cold for you, face your fears and join an Urban Adventure Walking tour! Tasters of hot tea and liquid courage (AKA alcohol) should assist along the way!
If you’re looking for a great way to get up to Whistler this year and don’t want to worry about sketchy driving, over packed vehicles, and extreme drinking and driving regulations,
give the SnowBus a try! Very impressed by this service stopping at various pickup points in the Vancouver area and transporting guests “express” up to Whistler and back. They also sell some pretty impressive packages on board for those that need rental gear, like to party, need some spa relaxation, or just looking for unique Whistler activities. Book online @ www.snowbus.com.
Received this promising email today. Let the winter season begin!
SNOW ALERT! A heavy Pacific storm has been hitting Whistler Blackcomb this weekend, dropping between 25-30cm of snow at higher elevations. The freezing level is expected to remain steady with more periods of snow forecast for this week. Meteorologists are calling for a La Niña weather cycle for the Pacific Northwest, meaning cooler temperatures and more snow than Whistler Blackcomb’s annual average of 34 feet/10.25m.
Weather Update – October 25, 2010
Temperature Outlook – Freezing levels are currently around 1600m or the Chic Pea on Whistler Mountain, and are expected to remain somewhat steady through Thursday.
Forecasted Snow – With the storm continuing to stick around through to the end of the day we can expect up to 7cm of snow.
Current Snow Line – light accumulations to near the bottom of Solar Coaster Express on Blackcomb
New Snow Last Week- 25-30cm has fallen over the upper part of the mountain throughout the weekend and Monday morning.
Reports have recently been circulating that Vancouver is going to receive the most snow it has seen in 40 years! What that means:
- The mountains will be unreal for skiing and boarding
- The city will most likely be in a state of shock for clearing roads (don’t rely on transit)
- People at work marveling at snow falling from the window will be exponentially higher
- More snow days! Hopefully making up for last years whopping number (zero…)
- A white Christmas!
Let it Snow!

West Coast Sightseeing, our parent company, did a poll last week on the top 5 Attraction that tourists experienced on a West Coast Sightseeing Tour.
Here are the Results:

1. The Vancouver Lookout – experiencing 360 degree views of Vancouver is truly a breath taking experience. The glass elevator
ride to the top of the tower is not for the faint of heart. The Lookout will impress, excite, and enlighten you on all Vancouver has to
offer from a birds eye view.

2. The Vancouver Aquarium – Dive into some of the most fascinating sea life! The Vancouver Aquarium is among the top
rated aquariums in the world and not only does it have magnificent sea life and entertainment but also a must see 4D experience.
3. The Klahowya Aboriginal Village – This Attraction is brand new to Vancouver. It allows guests to experience an authentic aboriginal native experience. The Village is located in Stanley Park where original native inhabitants occupied the land. Some highlights of the Village include a cultural mini train ride, salmon and bannock, and Native song and dances.
4. Grouse Mountain – “The Peak of Vancouver” gives you some of the most breath taking views and photographs of the entire
city. At the top guest are entertained by Grizzle Bears, Timber Wolves, a Lumber Jack show, and more.
5. Capilano Suspension Bridge – The Capilano Suspension Bridge most likely doesn’t need much explaining. A well know
tourist attraction that is sure to make your heart beat. What you may not know is that the Capilano Suspension Bridge offers their
exclusive “Tree-Tops Adventure” where guests are guided through rope bridges high up in the trees.
We could tell you how great our bike tour of Vancouver really is…But a guest who recently experienced it couldn’t of said it better:
“Vancouver by Bike” was absolutely fantastic! One of the best things we experienced there until now – and it was our 3rd trip to the city. You get a totally different view of the city. It is definitively better and provides more memories than exploring the city by sightseeing buses. And after having biked 22km through Vancouver you don’t feel tired at the end.”
